Hiking the Corfu Trail from the southern tip of the island (Kavos) to the most northern point (Cape Agia Ekaterina) will take nine to ten days with 4 to 7 hours of walking every day.

Starting your vacation at the time of Greek Orthodox Easter in the capital town of Corfu is a great idea. You then have the opportunity to participate in one of the greatest religious traditions of the island - and Corfu Town really merits the distinction of World Cultural Heritage!
The first of half of this photo book is dedicated to the Greek Easter festivities in Corfu Town, the second half shows my impressions of the Corfu Trail from April 2018.
Der sogenannte CORFU TRAIL führt über eine Strecke von ca. 200 km vom Süden der Insel (Kap Asprokavos) bis zur nördlichsten Spitze (Kap Ag. Ekaterina). Die wunderschöne Wanderung, vorbei an Bergdörfern, aber auch spektakulären Felsküsten und fast endlosen Sandbuchten, hunderten von Olivenhainen sowie an Monumenten aus byzantinischer und venezianischer Zeit läßt sich in neun bis zehn Tagen durchführen, bei täglichen Marschzeiten von 4 bis 7 Stunden.
Es ist ein besonderes Erlebnis, das Orthodoxe Osterfest in Korfu Stadt zu verbringen und an diesen größten aller griechischen religiösen Feiern teilzunehmen. Der venezianischen Altstadt wurde 2007 der Status des Weltkulturerbes verliehen, ein Aufenthalt von einigen Tagen lohnt sich bestimmt, bevor man die Wanderung beginnt!
Die erste Hälfte dieses Photobuches widmet sich dem griechischen Osterfest in Korfu Stadt, die zweite Hälfte zeigt photographische Impressionen meiner Wanderung im April 2018.
